After receiving a fist class honours degree in Mechanical and Space at The University of Queensland, Dan immediately went on to build a career in the Aerospace sector. There, he lead several projects for Aircraft OEMs and worked on aircraft including the Airbus A320, A330, A350, Gulfstream G250 and more.

As an early career highlight, Dan led the engineering analysis and build for the Airbus A320 MSN001 ‘Sharklet’ Early Flight Test. His work on the project led to the delivery of all required certifications and engineering reports, and ultimately to several successful test flights of the now ubiquitous Airbus ‘Sharklet’ wing tip.

Sharklets increase the effective wing span of the aircraft and reduce lift-induced drag. Sharklets can deliver fuel savings of 4% and thus decrease CO2 emissions.
